The Centre for Language Education Research (CLER)
Language Education Research is one of the research strengths of the School of Education at Leeds.
The Centre for Language Education Research (CLER) was established to promote research and teaching in Language Education. We see this as a broad field, drawing on both Applied Linguistics and Language Pedagogy, and encompassing first, second and foreign language learning at primary, secondary and post-compulsory levels. It is one of the largest groupings of its kind in the UK, and attracts large numbers of Masters and Doctoral students from around the world.
National and international networking and events
CLER members are active in national and international organizations such as BAAL, IATEFL and TESOL. Research meetings are a regular feature of the CLER Programme. Find out more about forthcoming and past confences and events.
