Working with Children and Young People: ideas, perspectives, practice
Claudio Pires Franco, Research/Strategist, Dubit
Room LG 10, Michael Sadler Building – 1.00pm
Claudio Pires Franco works as children and young people Researcher and Transmedia Strategist for Dubit, a digital entertainment studio based in Leeds. His role creates a bridge between the research and digital development teams. He has recently finished an MA thesis looking at the cross-media adaptations of Muddle Earth from book, to BBC cartoon, to game.
Claudio is currently part of a multi-disciplinary practice-based research team working in the UNESCO-sponsored project 'Crossing Media Boundaries: New Media Forms of the Book', at the University of Bedfordshire. Based on real professional projects, he is exploring innovative forms of transmedia storytelling by intersecting book authorship and publishing with the use of digital media and audience co-creation by involving young people.
