Theory-based expert seminar

Aim: To review the theoretical frameworks of cognitive and discourse dynamics and their implications for metaphor analysis.
Format
Expert speaker to introduce each of the theoretical frameworks. Questions to be explored:
- How do the theories describe and explain the connection between what people say and what they think?
- What do they allow and disallow as evidence of thinking?
- What do they not account for?
- How do they address the key issues in metaphor analysis?
- How far are the two approaches compatible?
