School to investigate new GCSE specifications with QCA funding

15 February 2007 |

The School of Education has been awarded funding by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority to research the new GCSE science specifications.

The new specifications were introduced in 2006 following changes to the Key Stage 4 Programme of Study for Science and teaching of the new range of GCSEs started last September.

The research project will be carried out by staff from the School's Centre for Studies in Science and Mathematics (CSSME) and will evaluate the uptake and first impressions of the new specifications in schools.
