Science Ed doctoral students stars of White Rose Conference
Building on the successful bid led by Professor Phil Scott in the 2009 White Rose Studentship Competition, which brought about £200k into science education in Yorkshire, the first White Rose Conference for science education doctoral students was held at the National Science Learning Centre in York on Thursday June 17th 2010.
The conference involved colleagues from Leeds, Sheffield, Hallam and York Universities and proved to be a great success, with about 50 delegates and presentations from 10 doctoral students. Leeds science education students Helen Morris, Nur Jayhan Ahmad, Muhammed Alzaghibi and Moses Odongo all made excellent presentations. Shaista Shirazi, also from Leeds, presented a poster and was one of the principal organisers.
