Deaf Education in Europe: A Comenius Transfer Workshop

18 April 2012 |

Next week we will be welcoming to the School of Education 12 European colleagues (from Germany, Bulgaria and Austria) and 30 UK deaf education practitioners to participate in a workshop to share action research and current practices and in bilingual deaf education.

This exciting event brings together the action research network in deaf education which grew out the Deafness and Reading for Meaning (DReaM) pump priming project and the signlanguage@school Comenius team who are developing sign bilingual reading materials for deaf children.

The DReaM team (Ruth Swanwick, Paula Clarke and Ruth Kitchen) who are hosting this day expect this to open further opportunities for European collaboration, strengthen practitioner partnerships and further extend this vibrant and diverse research community.
