Double success for Svava

18 October 2012 |

On Oct 17 Svava Petursdottir successfully defended her EdD thesis: "Using information and communication technology in lower secondary science teaching in Iceland".  The examiners said that her thesis showed tremendous evidence of industry and application and was very readable.  It evidenced a good sense of history and was very interesting with regard to the Icelandic context.  There were some important implications which the examiners felt might actually make a difference to teaching - as an EdD thesis should!

Not wasting any time, Svava then attended an interview with the University of Iceland in relation to two posts they are offering! These both relate to her chosen field of educational research. We wish her every success with her new career, whichever job she accepts!

Svava's doctorate was supervised by the much-missed Phil Scott, Aisha Walker and Jenny Lewis.  The examiners were Professors Jerry Wellington and John Monaghan.

Many congratulations to Svava.
