Kelly wins funding for Honduran children
School of Education student Kelly Faherty is set to help children and young people back into education.
Kelly Faherty is only in her first year as a Childhood Studies student in the School of Education, but already she is making a big difference to children’s education around the world. Kelly has successfully bid for funding through the Leeds for Life Foundation to take part in a project in Honduras which helps disadvantaged children back into education. The project will work with existing charities, Football Action and Casa Alianza, supporting vulnerable children and helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to access education. Kelly stated “to know I am helping to make this change to the children living in Honduras makes me feel very privileged and proud”. The project will take place next summer and Kelly is hoping to raise further funding for both charities over the next semester.
