New Research Project on Language Teacher Education
Professor Simon Borg has been funded by Cambridge ESOL to conduct a study of the cognitions and practices of teacher trainers working on the Delta programme. The project will run from January to October 2012 and it will involve teacher trainers from a range of international contexts.
The project aims to answer two basic questions:
- how do the trainers deliver training sessions?
- what cognitions and contextual factors shape the way they do so?
This qualitative study will generate a series of research-based case studies of the practices and cognitions of language teacher trainers which will be of international interest and have both theoretical and practical value.
