School up to 5th place in Sunday Times Good University Guide rankings
The School of Education has risen to 5th place in the 2012 rankings compiled by The Sunday Times Good University Guide. This marks a large upward step from last year when the league table ranked the school in 13th place.
Head of school Professor Geoff Hayward reacted warmly to the news, saying: "Our new position in the Sunday Times League Table is testimony to the high quality of our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, our research and our absolute commitment to academic excellence in all that we do as a School of Education."
The school also scored top ten places in The Guardian University Guide, and in The Times Good University Guide this year, as well as ranking in the top 30 worldwide, according to the prestigious 'QS World University Rankings'.
Professor Hayward added: "Our top 50 position in the world rankings reflects our commitment to values of academic excellence that underpin world class research and outstanding research-led teaching for undergraduates, postgraduates and research students."
