Lifetime Achievement Award for Dennis Child
Emeritus Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Leeds, Dennis Child, has been honoured by the British Psychological Society with a lifetime achievement award. The award confers free lifetime membership of the Society and a commemorative certificate and will be announced in the society journal The Psychologist. He was awarded an OBE for services to deaf people in 1997.
Professor Child said:
"I was very surprised, but delighted to accept this prestigious and rare award. My nominee was a student from the past. I supervised his master’s thesis at Bradford University in the early 1970s. It is always a pleasure to know that students from one’s past appreciate what you have done for them. It was also a wonderful climax to many years of association with the British Psychological Society."
The certificate will be presented at the 2014 Annual Conference in Birmingham.
