Dr Martin Lamb speaks at conference organised by Rokus Klett

12 March 2015 |

Martin Lamb, Senior Lecturer in TESOL, was invited to Slovenia on Saturday 7th March to give a plenary talk and workshop at a conference organised by the German publishing company Rokus Klett, who dominate the English language textbook market in the country.

The conference was attended by over 250 junior school teachers of English. The theme was Classroom Management, and Martin’s plenary talk was on ‘Carrots or Sticks? Theory and Practice in motivating classroom management’. Other speakers included the well-known Teachers TV presenter John Bayley.

After the conference was over, Martin visited UoL Visiting Professor Simon Borg at his home in the south of the country. Simon moved there with his wife and children in 2014 and, between frequent consultancy trips abroad, helps to tend the family vineyard.
