New funding for continued Translation and Translanguaging (TLANG) project
The grant awarded by the Leeds Social Science Institute’s Social Sciences Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) will fund the new project which will develop on the theme through visual arts, performance and linguistic ethnography methods.
The work builds on the current AHRC-funded Translation and Translanguaging project on which Professor Baynham and Dr Simpson are Co-Investigators and Jessica Bradley is a doctoral researcher. The team will be working with Faceless Arts and RETAS Leeds on a co-produced multi-method research and practice initiative involving refugees and refugees seeking asylum, visual artists, performers, a composer, a film-maker and Leeds-based researchers.
It is also a development of another AHRC-funded public engagement initiative, the Connected Communities/Utopias ‘Migration and Home’ project, led by the same team. Many congratulations to Jess Bradley, who led on developing the bid.
