Science staff to work with government on interactive teaching

Staff from the School of Education will work with the National Strategy team to develop materials for interactive teaching in science.

The National Secondary Strategy science team will join forces with School of Education staff members Phil Scott, Jaume Ametller, Katie Hall, Jenny Lewis, Jim Ryder and John Leach, to research and develop materials on the theme 'Interactive Teaching in Science Classrooms'.

This important initiative, which is part of the government's drive to make science more popular in schools, is sponsored by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).

The project links closely to current CSSME research interests and the resulting materials, which will be piloted by local science teachers, will eventually be used in classrooms across England.
