The Fair will take place in the Hilton Cyprus Hotel, Nicosia (Archbishop Makarios III Avenue or www.hilton.co.uk/cyprus ; email: hilton.cyprus@hilton.com.cy ; tel:+357 22 377777).
Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the School of Education and how our professionally focussed taught or research degree programmes could enhance your career prospects. Sue will be on hand at the University of Leeds stand to discuss your interests and the opportunities available to you if you come to study in Leeds. Bring your friends or family along too!
Other University of Leeds colleagues will also be available to help our prospective Greek students at a similar British Council Education Exhibition being held at the Athens Hilton Hotel on Mon 7th and Tues 8th November 2009 (1300 hrs - 2000 hrs).
Attracting many students every year who are interested in pursuing an education outside Cyprus and Greece, these prestigious British Council sponsored Education Fairs are some of the largest education events for the promotion of international academic careers for young people in both countries.
Last year the School of Education was delighted to welcome 22 postgraduate students from Cyprus, with 22 the year before. This year a further 28 students from Cyprus started MA programmes in the School of Education in October. Two more are following three year PhD research degrees in the TESOL and Science Education areas. In addition, we welcome around 8 new Masters students from Greece each year so you will be sure to find many friends if you make Leeds your first choice for postgraduate study. Sue looks forward to meeting you in Nicosia soon.
Find out what some of our past students from Cyprus and Greece say about their experiences in Leeds:
Christina Simantri recounts her experiences from first arriving in Leeds 11 years ago to study for a Bachelor's degree and now to returning to the University to complete her professional development.
Christina Loizou and Pavla reflect on their first impressions as they began their MA programmes last year and Andry reflects on her experience as a student in the School at the end of her studies last year. Finally, we're delighted to report that Christina, Pavla and Andry all passed with either Merit or Distinctions. Well done to you all!
