Dr Simon Green
Lecturer in TESOL
I joined the University in January 2012, having worked in ELT as a teacher, teacher educator, lecturer or academic manager in Africa, the Middle East, China and Central Europe, since 1982. Nine of those years were spent in Oman, working as a Regional Tutor on the University’s BA Ed. Studies (TESOL) programme. I am currently working on undergraduate and MA modules, to do with Second Language Acquisition, materials design and development and developing practical teaching skills.
My research interests are chiefly in the areas of academic literacy, disciplinary discourses, situated learning and literacy theory and issues of power and legitimacy in academic communities of practice.
