Part-time tutor in History / Personal Tutor
Barbara joined the School of Education in September 2014 as part-time method tutor and personal tutor for School Direct PGCE History. After 30 years teaching history she has undertaken a number of roles both nationally and internationally. She has been involved in examining and teacher training in Kazakhstan and is the humanities curriculum lead for Teach First. She is also a member of Ofqual’s subject expert panel and of the Historical Association’s secondary subject committee.
My PhD looked at the transition between studying history at A level and in higher education.
I was involved in the development of a new history curriculum in Kazakhstan.
I have worked as a reviewer for Ofqual looking at new A level and GCSE specifications and requirements.
I am method tutor and personal tutor for School Direct PGCE history trainees.
