The University of Leeds is committed to giving students the best possible student experience. At School level we aim to provide this for you, and my role as Student Support Officer is to work with my colleagues to ensure it happens.
The School of Education is proud of its longstanding tradition of developing a caring and supportive environment for all students, and we are glad that commitment to student support remains an important feature of our departmental ethos. For example, I may help with any of your questions about life and study in Leeds, no matter how small (or large!). In addition, I provide another avenue of support for students who want some advice on personal problems.
We are particularly concerned to build a warm and friendly environment for international students, who are usually studying a long way away from home. We arrange a varied social and cultural programme for them, including two residential weekends in different parts of the UK, for all Masters and Doctoral students. These together with other events during the year, provide students with opportunities to enrich their personal experience of living and studying in the UK.
Our former students can attest to the happy and rewarding time they had in Leeds and we very much look forward to welcoming you to join us here too.
