My name is Christina Loizou and I come from Larnaca, Cyprus. I studied Education (Primary) at the University of Cyprus and I graduated in June 2007.
I am now doing the MA Mathematics Education course in the School of Education at the University of Leeds.
I am particularly interested in the implementation of Modern Technology in Mathematics Education and have taken the Design and Evaluation of Web-based Learning Environments module during the first semester at Leeds.
I am hoping that my experience and qualification from Leeds will enable me to become a better qualified teacher in Mathematics and better informed about the research in the specific area.
My experience of the course MA Mathematics Education so far is very positive.
The course is interesting and challenging, and the professors are one of its main highlights. Beyond being good academics, they are really helpful regarding our assignments and any other academic issues that may trouble us.
As for Leeds as a city to live and study, I would definitely recommend it. It has everything a student may ask for -- for example, cultural attractions -- and the best thing is that all these are more or less in a walking distance.
I would strongly encourage you to consider Leeds as an option!
