I am originally from Greece, where I studied my BA degree in English Language and Literature.
I have always wanted to teach English so chose to study the MA TESOL Studies because I wanted to become an effective teacher. I really enjoy teaching English and helping people to improve their knowledge of the language.
I chose the School of Education at the University of Leeds because of its reputation.
I really liked and enjoyed my course, particularly the practical aspects of it. I am sure these aspects will be really helpful once I start my teaching.
There is also a lot of support for students within the School of Education. There is always someone to help you and ready to answer your questions. The facilities area also very good; the libraries have so many books and journals.
Outside of Study
Outside of studying, there are many activities available for students. There are societies in Leeds University Students’ Union which you can join; you can go to the gym or even learn a new language in the University’s Language Centre. I started learning Mandarin Chinese and have also really enjoyed Zumba classes in the gym!
I also really enjoying hanging out with my new friends and travelling. Leeds is the best city for students to live in. There are many restaurants, pubs and clubs so everyone can find something to suit their interests!
Once I graduate I would like to find a job as a teacher of English as a foreign language, then after gaining some experience I may consider doing a PhD.
