I am a consultant Paediatric Radiologist in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I am the Training Programme Director for the Leeds/Bradford Training Scheme in Clinical Radiology. I was a consultant at St James’s University Hospital when I started my degree in 2004.
My motivation to study
My motivations for applying for this programme included that it was a local course which also fitted in well with work commitments. I wanted to develop my role in postgraduate medical education and this programme looked very good when I was making enquiries about it. Funded places were also available to local NHS staff.
My overall experience at the University was excellent all round. I found working with a very good teaching faculty and fellow students from throughout the NHS were inspiring.
Since I graduated from the MEd, I have continued my job as a Consultant Radiologist but expanded my role in postgraduate medical education. I became Training Programme Director in 2008.
I have been undertaking an EdD at the University of Leeds since 1/1/09. My experiences on the Masters course were a large influence on my undertaking a doctorate.
