Programme Structure and Content
This is a part-time course which has an intake every year. The Postgraduate Certificate course spans a twelve month period, and the Masters course a further twenty four month period. The course consists of compulsory modules which all students must complete.
Postgraduate Certificate : Modules 1 and 2
Masters option : Modules 1 to 5
The taught units of Modules 1 to 4 are held in Leeds. The sessions are usually run four times a year and consist of 3 or 4 days of teaching.
Prior to starting each module, you will be contacted by the course office with any specific further information you may need.
Course work will be undertaken with the support of one of our course tutors. The exact details of how tutor support will operate will be explained to you when you attend the first taught unit.
The titles of the Modules are as follows
Year 1
- Module 1: (EDUC5300M) Context, design and principles of learning and teaching in clinical settings
- Module 2: (EDUC5310M) Practice, assessment and evaluation of learning and teaching in clinical settings
Year 2
- Module 3: (EDUC5320M) Education management, theories of teaching and learning, developments in healthcare education
- Module 4: (EDUC5330M) Evidence-based teaching and learning in clinical education
Year 3
- Module 5: (EDUC5340M) Critical study
