The Programme
Our comprehensive training will provide you with the skills and experience you need to teach this subject to 11-18 year olds. In addition to broadening your own subject knowledge, you'll learn how to handle a diverse range of elements in the classroom, focusing on topics such as the teaching of literature, language, writing and poetry.
Through their own teaching, tutors will exemplify a variety of teaching styles and enable you to explore learning experiences such as creative writing, role play, analysis of public language and the selection and sharing of text.
Tutorials will cover issues such as lesson planning, class management, pupil assessment, lesson evaluation, the structuring of group work and the preparation of texts on which thinking and responding are to be based.
