This programme aims to extend teachers' knowledge and skills to enable them to strategically coordinate special educational provision and promote an ethos which celebrates diversity whilst maintaining realistically high expectations of the progress and achievement of all pupils.

The programme has been designed through the liaison of the School's Inclusive Education team with local practitioners and LEA staff and is regularly updated to ensure it provides a contemporary overview of UK policy and initiatives.

It is tailored to support current moves towards increased inclusion and is recognised by the Training and Development Agency as offering a valuable contribution to continuing professional development for teachers in the area of special educational needs.
