Olamide's Story:
"This course attracts students from a wide range of nationalities ... This makes for a great learning experience."

This specialist programme addresses issues central to the management and leadership of both schools and higher education institutions.

The programme will:

  • explore contemporary education management theory
  • critically examine management in terms of institutional leadership, effective policy making, human resource management, and planning for change
  • enable students to apply contemporary theory to their own cultures and workplace
  • develop knowledge and skills central to effective management and leadership and relevant to both present roles and future careers

On completion of the course you will have an understanding of how to manage an educational institution, an awareness of differences in this management between countries and of the significance of making informed policies and plans.

Who is the course for?

The programme is designed for graduate students and experienced professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of education management and leadership.

It is suitable for experienced teachers and officials from international contexts with current or prospective management responsibilities in schools, and for governors, ministry officials and students of development.

This specialist course will be of interest to you if you work or intend to work in education as a leader, manager, administrator, inspector or researcher.
