This specialist programme aims to contribute to the professional development of students who want to acquire an understanding of the teaching and learning of English in specific academic and professional contexts.

On completion of the programme you will have a deeper understanding of the background, practices and research in academic and professional English. You will be ready to apply this knowledge to specific academic and professional situations, whether they are in the classroom, in course design, in evaluation, or in other academic and professional situations.

Who is the programme for?

The MA TEAPP is for experienced language professionals such as teachers, teacher trainers, language school directors, curriculum developers, inspectors, lecturers, and materials writers, who wish to develop an understanding of the theories and practices of English for Academic and Professional Purposes in its various contexts. The course will be of value to those who have already had some involvement with specialist English teaching and learning and to those who want to move into this exciting field.

We welcome UK and international applicants.
