...then the MA in Educational Assessment is the programme for you.
From 2010/11 the School of Education is launching a new Masters programme in Educational Assessment to commence in September 2010.
The programme is an academic course leading to the MA in Educational Assessment (one of the first in the world), and one of six programmes nationally that are to be linked to the professional qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA).
The new programme reflects the School's belief in, and strong commitment to high quality research-led teaching while also intending to root the course in the experiences and knowledge of the participating professionals to ensure that theoretical notions are properly related to the day to day practices of assessment.
It is mainly a distance learning programme, using the University's new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to combine module reading and private research with collaborative on-line tasks and discussion. However, there will also be Saturday workshops (two per module) both to cover some course content on a face to face basis and to meet up with other course participants to share experience and perspectives.
