Research
Research is central to the mission of the School of Education. We undertake research in key areas of educational policy and practice, and place particular emphasis on the relevance of our work to practitioners and policymakers.Research Students are also at the centre of the School's work, for example through the annual Students' Research Conference. Research is organized around the following areas:
- Human rights and citizenship
- ICT in education
- Inclusive education
- Language education
- Lifelong learning (including post-14 education, higher education and Educational Leadership and Management)
- Mathematics education
- Science education
Research Centres
Research in these areas is reflected in the School's cross-disciplinary research centres:- Assessment and Evaluation Unit (AEU)
- Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education (CCHRE)
- Centre for Language Education Research (CLER)
- Centre for Studies in Science and Mathematics Education (CSSME)
- Centre for Policy Studies in Education (CPSE)
- Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI)
