Specially-Designed Degree: MA TESOL - Oman

The MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) (Oman) is a two year part-time programme taught entirely at Majan College, Oman by University of Leeds staff.
The programme is open to candidates from all over the Gulf and is suitable for experienced TESOL professionals such as teachers, teacher trainers, language school directors, curriculum developers, inspectors, lecturers and materials writers.
It aims to offer graduates the opportunity to extend their academic knowledge and skills, as well as offering a route towards PhD study at a later date.
Successful graduates receive a BA degree from the University of Leeds.
Candidates should;
- be either a graduate of the Leeds BA TESOL with a classification of 2.2 or higher, OR
- have a first degree from another university with a classification of 2.2 or higher (or equivalent), AND
- have IELTS 6.5 average or higher (with no lower than 5.5 in any one skill), AND
- have two years' teaching experience, with evidence of undergraduate work on language study and learning
Support for assignments and dissertations will be provided by tutors when they are in Oman and also by e-mail. After the initial two years students will have a further two years for successful completion of the degree.
The fees for this programme are £9,750 and the closing date for applications is 16th April, 2007.
