The development of advanced classroom research skills

This project involves implementating of a 24-month inservice programme which supports the development of advanced classroom research skills in English language teaching (ELT) and which leads to the completion by participants on the course of good quality research projects on various aspects of ELT in Oman. The benefits of this programme are twofold:
a. the development of local research capacity and expertise which can support further developments in ELT research in Oman;
b. research outputs, in the form of a series of teacher research projects, which can be disseminated nationally and used to continue to raise the regional and international profile of ELT research in Oman.
Additionally, the project will involve the empirical study of the processes and challenges faced by teachers in learning to do research.
