The Assessment and Evaluation Unit (AEU)

The Unit has been established to undertake evaluation and assessment projects across all areas of education, but we have particular experience in; Mathematics assessment, Language assessment, Evaluation of educational initiatives, The impact of ICT on assessment, Technical issues in assessment and Statistical analysis and research methodology.

CCHRE

The Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education (CCHRE) was established to promote and develop research, consultancy and postgraduate studies in citizenship education and human rights education. It is a leading international centre in this field and welcomes students and researchers from around the world. The Centre's work is inter-disciplinary and we actively promote the involvement of institutions, agencies and professionals. CCHRE is involved in a range of activities at local, regional, national and international levels.

The Centre for Language Education Research (CLER)

The Centre for Language Education Research (CLER) was established to promote research and teaching in Language Education. We see this as a broad field, drawing on both Applied Linguistics and Language Pedagogy, and encompassing first, second and foreign language learning at primary, secondary and post-compulsory levels. It is one of the largest groupings of its kind in the UK, and attracts large numbers of Masters and Doctoral students from around the world.

The Centre for Studies in Science and Mathematics Education (CSSME)

The Centre for Studies in Science and Mathematics Education (CSSME) was established in 1971 to promote research and related teaching in science education. It is one of the leading international centre s for work in this field and attracts students and researchers, including Visiting Fellows, from all over the world. Members of the Centre are drawn from a number of academic departments within the University of Leeds and from schools and colleges.

CPSE

CPSE is a University of Leeds Centre dedicated to the study of education policy and practice. CPSE engages with education policy at all levels - from the early years to higher education - and in various contexts - UK, European and international.

The Higher Education Policy Unit

The Higher Education Policy Unit (HEPU) at the University of Leeds is a tightly focused independent research organisation based in the School of Education. HEPU is dedicated to high quality academic research exploring the history, operation and development of higher education policy.

The Lifelong Learning Institute

The Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Leeds is a centre of excellence for research and postgraduate study about lifelong learning. It seeks to enhance lifelong learning for individuals, organisations and communities in the UK and overseas.
