School of Education

There’s a definite sense of equality within the school, with little evidence of hierarchy between staff and students which I think really helps facilitate open discussion so all of us get the best out of our university experience.

Undergraduate students

The School of Education has a reputation for rigour and excellence in both research and teaching.

We specialise in the interdisciplinary study of childhood, education, social policy, social psychology, and the role of language learning and teaching.

We offer two degree courses for undergraduate students.

Both BA programmes are flexible. You can choose degree modules that cross discipline boundaries, and develop a degree structure that meets your interests and career aspirations.

All our lecturers are active researchers, and their expertise and understanding will inform and enlighten your study. Our teaching quality consistently receives top marks in Quality Assurance Reviews.

Both programmes will offer you the opportunity to explore in depth some of the most challenging and fundamental issues concerning children, young people and their families in the twenty-first century.
