Dr Emma Rempe-Gillen
Lecturer in Mathematics Education
I am a Lecturer in the School of Education specialising in teacher development and mathematics education. I am a former Assistant Headteacher and Leader of Learning Mathematics and I am a qualified teacher of mathematics, having taught at school and undergraduate level in the UK and US. Before coming to the University of Leeds I taught undergraduate mathematics at UCLA. My PhD in Education was supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) and my research won the Professional Development in Education Award from the International Professional Development Association (IPDA).

I am the programme leader for the MA Teaching degree course and module leader for undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics education modules. I supervise student dissertations on mathematics education, technology and leadership.
